Grab opportunities to speak in English: on the phone, in the office, at home, in the class, with strangers or with friends,
etc. Doesn't matter if you make mistakes, the important thing is to start trying.

published by Goyal Saab is a good book to meet this objective.
Subscribe to
English newspapers. Read aloud 10 headlines everyday. This practice ensures that you read and listen to English daily.
Times of India is a good one to start with.
Pay attention
Observe the people around you, who speak the language well. Notice how they use words.
Listen to programs in English on television or radio and listen carefully.
Observe people who do not speak the language well. Find out why they can't speak well and learn from their mistakes.
Perfect the rules
Perfect your grammar and be clear about the tense and parts of speech.
Listen to how newsreaders speak. NDTV (English) is a good channel to observe this. Please do not watch BBC or CNN in the beginning.
Think in English. This can be easily attained by socializing with people who speak in English.
The art of speaking English
Use the dictionary to check the correct pronunciation of words.
Get a recorded version of a good speech. Note the necessary pauses in each sentence.
Read aloud when learning pronunciation and speech pauses. Another useful practice is to
record your own speech and to listen it. Analyse your speech and learn from your mistakes.
This is the best way to improve yourself.
Its the way you do it that matters
While speaking English maintain eye contact with the audience or the listener.
Maintain good and correct posture and be relaxed. Smile and show interest in the topic.
Make sure you don't talk too softly or murmur to yourself. Don't hesitate to speak up. Always speak clearly.
Initial mistakes will help you identify the areas to be worked on.
Above all, don't give up. Come out of your shell and speak up!

Listening
Remember the first words you ever learnt to speak?
They were spoken to you, and you learnt it by just listening. To develop your listening
skills, you will be attending a number of structured AUDIO-VISUAL sessions. You will be
encouraged to listen to conversations in English. You will be encouraged to interact with
others in English.
Speaking
You learn a language well when you speak in it. To develop your
speaking skills, you will be taught to speak in front of a collection of people. You will
be part of group discussions and debates. You will be involved in situational role-plays
(enact characters). You will be involved in extempore, presentations, skits, group activities
and loads more fun filled thought provoking and enriching activities.
Reading
The best way to improve your pronunciation
is to read aloud. Various teaching methods will be used to enhance your pronunciation skills. You will
read short stories, short paragraphs aloud. Your comprehension capabilities will be tested. Your ability
to retain what you have learnt will be enhanced.
Writing
Writing reflects your capability to
communicate a language well. To enhance your writing skills in English, you will write
and develop sentences on your own. You will build summaries. You will write paragraphs/letters.

The session design at focus
Each Session lasts for NINETY minutes.
It consists of pre-session discussion/exercises, a lecture/presentation, speaking
activity and a post session discussion/exercises. The workbooks contain class exercises
and home exercises for each session.
