Psychometric word is made of two words - Psychology + Metrics. i.e. to measure or access the psychology of a person psycho + metric.

Every individual has an inherent personality i.e. certain traits are inherited by him/her genetically. For example, one person is excellent in playing guitar while other is the best footballer in the country. One is good in writing poetry while other person has got good traits to be an entrepreneur. Now if a person who wants to play guitar whole life is asked to study medicine, he might fail miserably and if not fail he will never be happy.
